Dad's post: Volition

Recently there was a discussion on the ObjectivismOnline.net forum about volition.

I was reminded of it today, and I thought it was funny...

Flipping through channels, I hit one that was playing "Lord of the Rings". A group of people were sitting around the ring, and one of them said: "The only choice we have, is to destroy the ring."

Seemed like a fitting line to me. But then, my son, piped up saying: "Then, that's no choice at all!"

I hope he doesn;t unlearn at 17 what he knows at 7.
